Student Extracurricular Activities

Altar Servers (Grades 3-8)
After receiving First Holy Communion, students have the opportunity to serve as altar servers during weekly school Masses and special liturgies. Students who wish to further serve the parish are also welcome to serve at weekend Masses. Altar servers assist the priest and deacon while growing in their faith, developing leadership and responsibility, and actively participating in the life of the Church. Serving at the altar is both a privilege and a meaningful way to answer God's call to serve others.

Choir (Grades K-8)
The Saint Raphael-Holy Angels Guardian Angels Children's Choir sings at weekly school Masses, once a month at Sunday Mass, and at other school and parish events throughout the school year.

Band (Grades K-8)
Band members perform during weekly school Masses and other school events throughout the year. Students may participate by playing instruments such as guitar, percussion, drums, keyboard, violin, and handbells, with opportunities for vocal performances as well.

Recording Studio (Grades K-8)
Students have the opportunity to explore audio production and digital media in the Saint Raphael School Recording Studio. Working individually and collaboratively, students develop creativity and technical skills while creating recordings and multimedia projects for use in the school and parish community.

Safety Patrol (Grades 5-8)
Safety Patrol members develop leadership and responsibility by assisting teachers and volunteers with supervising students during lunch, recess, and school dismissal.
Student Council (Grades 3-8)Student Council provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills while serving the school community. Incoming eighth graders serve as officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer), while students in grades 3-7 elect representatives to the council. An eighth-grade student is also appointed to represent Preschool through Grade 2. Throughout the year, Student Council plans and supports a variety of school events, service projects, fundraisers, assemblies, and other activities that promote school spirit, leadership, and service.

Tech Team (Grades 5-8)
​Tech Team members assist with preparing technology for weekly school Masses and school events, perform basic equipment maintenance, and provide technology support to faculty and staff as needed.

Dance Team (Grades 4-8)
The Saints Dance Team provides students from Saint Raphael School and the Saint Raphael-Holy Angels Faith Formation Program with a fun and creative opportunity to build confidence, develop teamwork, and express themselves through dance while performing at several school and parish events throughout the year.

Yearbook (Grades 6-8)
​Yearbook staff members collaborate to design, photograph, and produce the annual Saint Raphael School yearbook, preserving memories of the school year for the entire school community.
Extracurricular activities enrich the educational experience by helping students discover new interests, develop leadership skills, and build friendships. At Saint Raphael School, we offer a variety of opportunities to support students' growth in faith, knowledge, and community.

If there is an extracurricular activity not currently offered that students would like to participate in, new clubs or activities may be established when there is sufficient student interest and an available faculty member, staff member, or approved adult volunteer to serve as the moderator.
